Sunday Recap - March 4th

The wall has been finished, everyone’s together in the city square and now they’ve asked Ezra to read the Book of the Law to them. As they hear it the people mourn. They recognize their sin, and now with willing hearts, are ready to be restored back in relationship with God.

Immediately Nehemiah tells them to not mourn and to instead rejoice and that the Joy of the Lord is their strength.

Key Scriptures: For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There's no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. 2 Corinthians 7:10

Some Sunday takeaways on being hungry for God:

  1. Seek God and His kingdom first - Taste and see that the Lord is good.
  2. Be restored to Him - repent and seek Him.
  3. Be obedient to what He is calling you to do - As you read scripture and God speaks to you, obey.
