Sunday Recap - Oct. 14th
God’s Spirit is moving mightily as miracles are being performed and people everyday are believing in Jesus. This family of believers really love each other and it’s demonstrated in their unity and generous giving. No one has need. And in the midst of persecution and suffering, their joy increases as they are counted worth to suffer for Jesus sake.
Key Scriptures: "All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had…God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.” Acts 4:32-35 (NIV)
Some Sunday takeaways:
Our generous giving should be voluntary, given in faith, viewed as a privilege, and focused on God first.
When it comes to giving, it’s not how much you give, its how you give.
You can’t stop God’s work. His purpose will prevail.
As a bold witness of Jesus, you will suffer. Always remember to be joyful as your suffering demonstrates your love and devotion to Christ.
